The Wallabok Range
KAN ONS NOU BRAAI?
Your heart is in the motherland but you’ve been welcomed with open arms into a country with golden soil and wealth for toil (whatever that means). At least they braai (bbq) here!
ARE YOU A WALLABOK?
Does the smell of a charcoal braai make you lus for a beer? Do you remember watching TV in simulcast? Do you wish that Santa could bring the Boks a decent fly half for Christmas?
You might be a Wallabok!
Wallaboks are rugby union fans, who for various reasons call Australia home.
They’re caught between a rock and a hard place, supporting the country of their birth and the country that has taken them in as one if it’s own.
They’re referred to by new Australian friends as South Africans when the Wallabies win, and by old South African friends as Aussies when the Springboks win.
They’re a new breed of rugby lover, forging their own identity and celebrating their unique new culture.
